The National Assembly of Pakistan has officially opened applications for its Parliamentary Internship Program – Summer Batch 2025. This is a special six-week program designed for students and fresh graduates. The goal is to help young people learn more about how Pakistan’s highest law-making body works.
The main aim of this program is to help young people understand democracy and how the National Assembly functions. It is part of the National Assembly Strategic Plan (NASP), which encourages citizens—especially students—to take part in democratic activities and learn how Parliament works.
About the Program
This internship gives participants a great chance to see and experience how laws are made, how policies are formed, and how democracy operates in real life. Interns will be involved in real work at the National Assembly and will learn directly from professionals and lawmakers.
Duration and Schedule
- Total Duration: 6 weeks
- Internship Batches: The program runs in different batches throughout the year, but this batch is specifically for summer 2025.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must meet these conditions:
- Must have completed at least 14 years of education from a Higher Education Commission (HEC)-recognized institution.
- Must be studying in:
- A 4-year undergraduate program (after completing at least 4 semesters), or
- A Master’s degree program
Eligible fields of study include:
- Law, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration
- Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Statistics
- Human Resources, Agriculture
- Media Sciences / Mass Communication
- Information Systems & Technology
- Social Sciences or any 16-year equivalent education
Other important requirements:
- At least 60% marks (in percentage system) or 2.5 CGPA (out of 4.0 in GPA system)
- Maximum Age: 30 years
- Applicants from underrepresented or remote areas are especially encouraged to apply, including:
- Balochistan, Sindh, Southern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, former FATA, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan
What Interns Will Get
- Real Work Experience: Interns will work with different departments inside the National Assembly.
- Orientation & Training: A 3 to 5-day training session will be held at Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS) in Islamabad to prepare interns.
- Professional Skills: Interns will learn about making laws, doing research, and understanding how the government works.
- Mentorship: Interns will get guidance from experienced professionals working in Parliament.
- Certificate: After completing the program, each intern will receive a Certificate of Completion from the National Assembly Secretariat.

What’s Expected from Interns
- Attendance: You must attend at least 85% of the internship days.
- Full-Time Commitment: Interns must work 5 days a week, 8 hours per day.
- Professional Behavior: Interns must follow the dress code, rules, and code of conduct of the National Assembly.
- No Political Involvement: Interns must stay neutral and not support or join any political group during the internship.

- The internship is unpaid
- There is no application fee
- This internship does not lead to a job at the National Assembly

- The National Assembly can end the internship anytime if rules are broken
