The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new and highly useful facility for citizens across Pakistan. This step is aimed at making the payment process for applications much more convenient and accessible for everyone. Now, after a person’s application is approved, they can choose from different payment options instead of being limited to a single method. This improvement will save time, reduce long queues, and provide flexibility to citizens.
According to the latest update, applicants can now deposit their fees directly at the relevant NADRA office in cash. This option is particularly useful for people who do not have access to mobile banking services or prefer traditional payment methods. By allowing in-person cash payments, NADRA ensures that even those living in rural areas or without digital facilities are not left behind.
In addition to cash payments, NADRA has partnered with popular mobile wallet services like JazzCash and Easypaisa, as well as E-Sahulat outlets. These platforms are widely used across Pakistan, especially in small towns and villages, where banks or ATMs might not be easily available. With this new option, citizens can simply walk into their nearest outlet and pay their fees without any extra hassle.
Another significant step taken by NADRA is the introduction of a digital QR code payment system. When citizens submit their applications, NADRA staff will provide them with a QR code. This code can be scanned using a mobile banking application, and the payment can be made instantly online. This method is not only fast but also secure, as it eliminates the need for handling physical cash. Importantly, there are no hidden charges for using the QR code payment feature, making it a cost-free and user-friendly option.
These updated payment options are now available across the country, ensuring that people in all provinces—Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir—can benefit from the new system. Citizens who face any kind of issue can contact NADRA directly by dialing 1777 from their mobile phones. This helpline is specifically set up to assist the public with their complaints and queries.
For those who prefer online complaint services, NADRA also offers a dedicated complaint portal at complaints.nadra.govt.pk. Additionally, users of the Pak ID mobile application can also register their complaints digitally. This ensures that citizens do not have to physically visit NADRA offices for complaint registration, saving them both time and effort.
Earlier, NADRA also updated the NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) fee structure for Pakistani citizens residing in South Africa. The NICOP is an essential document for overseas Pakistanis, as it legally recognizes them as Pakistani nationals while living abroad. It helps them stay connected to Pakistan by allowing access to a wide range of facilities and services.
The NICOP provides several benefits, such as smoother travel to Pakistan without needing a visa, simplified immigration processes, and easier access to property or banking services in the country. Moreover, it ensures that overseas Pakistanis remain officially tied to their homeland. Family members of overseas Pakistanis are also eligible to apply for NICOP, making it easier for entire families to benefit from these services.
Through these new updates, NADRA has shown its commitment to modernizing services and improving accessibility for both citizens living in Pakistan and those living abroad. By offering multiple payment options, introducing digital solutions, and expanding support channels, NADRA is making the registration and documentation process more efficient and citizen-friendly.
