Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz has earned a place on the shortlist for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for November 2025. He is joined by South Africa’s experienced spinner Simon Harmer and Bangladesh’s in-form left-arm spinner Taijul Islam. All three cricketers produced standout performances for their countries, making this month’s competition very close and exciting.
South Africa’s Simon Harmer enjoyed one of the finest months of his Test career. He played a major role in South Africa’s historic 2-0 Test series victory in India, a place where visiting teams rarely win. This series win was especially memorable because South Africa had not won a Test series in India for 25 long years. Harmer’s bowling was the main reason behind this achievement. The 36-year-old off-spinner took 17 wickets in just two Test matches at an extraordinary average of 8.94, a number that shows how dominant he was. His best moment came in the second Test when he picked up 6 wickets for just 37 runs, completely changing the direction of the match. His brilliant consistency throughout the series helped him secure the Player of the Series award.
Bangladesh’s left-arm spinner Taijul Islam was also in top form during November. Playing in home conditions, he continued to shine as Bangladesh defeated Ireland in their Test series. Taijul picked up 13 wickets at an average of 26.30, often breaking dangerous partnerships and keeping the Irish batters under pressure. His accuracy, patience, and ability to strike at key moments earned him the Player of the Series title. His performances showed once again why he is considered one of Bangladesh’s most trusted Test bowlers.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz also delivered an excellent all-round performance during the home tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. In the ODI matches, Nawaz scored 104 runs at a strong average of 52, showing maturity and responsibility with the bat. He also took four wickets, proving useful with the ball whenever Pakistan needed a breakthrough. In the T20I matches, he continued his impressive form, scoring 52 runs and taking 11 wickets at a brilliant average of 12.72. His bowling in the shorter format was especially impactful, as he kept picking up important wickets at crucial stages.
Nawaz’s most memorable performance came in the final against Sri Lanka, where he delivered a match-winning spell of 3 for 17. This performance played a huge role in Pakistan’s victory in the tri-series final. His consistent contributions with both bat and ball earned him the Player of the Series award and made him one of the strongest contenders for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for November 2025.
