MDCAT 2025 Date Announced: Test to Be Held on October 5 Nationwide

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially announced the date for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025. The test will be held across the country on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

This important update was shared during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination. The meeting was led by Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, and PMDC officials gave a detailed briefing to the committee. They confirmed that the MDCAT 2025 will take place at the same time in all parts of Pakistan to ensure fairness and transparency.

Earlier, the PMDC also introduced a new and updated curriculum for MDCAT 2025. According to PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj, the revised syllabus will focus on five key subjects:

  1. Biology
  2. Chemistry
  3. Physics
  4. English
  5. Logical Reasoning

The exam will include a total of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Students will have three hours to complete the paper. One important change this year is that there will be no negative marking, which means students won’t lose marks for incorrect answers.

The level of questions will be divided into three categories:

  • 15% Easy
  • 70% Moderate
  • 15% Difficult

To pass the test and qualify for admission:

  • Students need at least 55% marks for MBBS (medical college) admissions.
  • For BDS (dental college) admissions, students must score at least 50% marks.

PMDC has already started preparing a large question bank based on the new syllabus. This new curriculum has been carefully created with the help of academic experts, education boards, and top universities to ensure it meets national standards and supports student learning.

This announcement gives students clear guidance and plenty of time to start preparing seriously for one of the most important exams in their academic journey.
