The Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education have officially announced the results of the Matric Annual Examinations 2025. Thousands of students across different cities appeared in the exams, and the overall performance shows a mix of success, challenges, and inspiring stories.
The Matric Result 2025 not only highlights the achievements of thousands of students across Punjab but also reminds us of the importance of equal access to quality education. From rural towns to big cities, students are showing their potential.
With continued support, investment in schools, and encouragement from families, the coming years can bring even better results.
Let’s take a look at the detailed results from key cities in Punjab.
Faisalabad: 80% Pass Percentage
In Faisalabad, a total of 173,239 students appeared in the exams. Out of them, 137,948 students passed, making the overall pass percentage 80%.
This is a strong result for Faisalabad, showing that students in the city have performed well. According to the Controller of Examinations, this high success rate reflects the hard work of students and teachers alike.
Dera Ghazi Khan: Highest Pass Rate with 81%
In Dera Ghazi Khan, a total of 91,180 students took the Matric exam. Among them, 74,180 students passed, which gives the city a pass percentage of 81% – the highest among the major cities of Punjab.
Education officials in DG Khan appreciated the efforts of students, especially those in remote areas who still managed to achieve great results.
Sargodha: 73% Students Passed
In Sargodha, 93,582 students sat for the exams, but only 69,072 students passed. This results in a 73% pass rate, which is slightly lower compared to Faisalabad and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Officials believe that more focus is needed on exam preparation and support for students in the coming years to improve these results.
Lahore Board: Over 2.5 Lakh Students Appeared
The Lahore Board is one of the biggest in Punjab. This year, 254,012 students took part in the Matric exams. Out of these, 165,312 students passed, making the overall pass percentage 65.32%.
When we look deeper:
- Science Group: 69.08% of students passed.
- Arts Group: Only 52.87% passed.
The gap between the science and arts groups is quite noticeable. Experts say this shows the need to strengthen support for arts students, including better teaching and updated course content.
One of the most inspiring stories this year comes from Lahore. A student from a government school, whose father is a vegetable vendor, secured third position in the Lahore Board exams.
Despite limited financial resources, this student proved that with dedication and effort, success is possible. His story is now being shared widely on social media and praised by educationists and the general public.
Overall Analysis
This year’s results show:
- Many students performed well, especially in Faisalabad and Dera Ghazi Khan.
- Lahore’s overall result was lower, but individual success stories stood out.
- Sargodha has room for improvement in student preparation and academic performance.
These results reflect both the strengths and challenges within Punjab’s education system. Teachers, students, and parents all play an important role in improving academic outcomes.
