PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to pay salaries and pensions to all government employees and pensioners before Eidul Adha, as reported by ARY News.
The Finance Department of KP has officially issued a letter to all government departments and institutions. This letter clearly instructs them to make sure that all salaries and pensions are paid on May 30, 2025. The reason for this early payment is that June 1, 2025, falls on a Sunday, which is a public holiday. Since banks and offices will be closed on that day, the government wants to ensure everyone receives their payments before the weekend starts.
This early disbursement will help government workers and pensioners prepare for Eid ul Adha without financial stress. It shows that the government is trying to be considerate and helpful during this important religious occasion.
In another development, Pakistan Railways has announced that it will run five special trains during Eid ul Adha 2025. These trains are meant to make travel easier for people who want to visit their families in other cities for the holiday.
According to the Pakistan Railways spokesperson, these special trains will run from June 2 to June 4, 2025, and will start from different stations across the country. This step is expected to reduce travel problems during the busy Eid season and give people more options to reach their hometowns.
Eid ul Adha is one of the most important religious festivals for Muslims in Pakistan and around the world. It is expected to be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025, although the final date will be confirmed based on the sighting of the moon.
This festival holds deep religious meaning. It honors the strong faith of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.), who was ready to sacrifice his beloved son as an act of obedience to Allah. However, Allah replaced his son with a ram, and this event is remembered every year through the ritual of Qurbani (animal sacrifice).
During Qurbani, Muslims sacrifice animals like cows, goats, sheep, or camels, following Islamic rules. The meat is then divided into three parts: one for the family, one for relatives and friends, and one for the poor and needy. This tradition shows the values of kindness, sharing, and caring for others, which are central to the spirit of Eidul Adha.
