The Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE) has announced a sudden delay in the intermediate exams. The exams were supposed to start the next day, but now they have been postponed for three weeks. The board said this was due to unavoidable reasons, but did not share more information in the beginning.
Later, different news outlets reported that the main reason for the delay was a teachers’ boycott. According to these reports, teachers have refused to take part in exam duties like supervision and paper checking. Because of this, the board was unable to complete all the necessary preparations for holding the exams. Without teachers to manage the exams, it was impossible to continue as planned.
The BBISE chairman confirmed that the exams are postponed and will now take place at a later date, which has not been decided yet. This unexpected decision has caused confusion among students and parents, as no new exam schedule has been released.
At the same time, in Karachi, the Board of Intermediate Education has also made an important announcement. They stated that intermediate exams will now start after May 6, 2025. This change in schedule is due to two main problems.
First, the board chairman is not available during the originally planned exam dates. Second, many examination halls are already being used for matriculation exams, which will continue until May 2. Because of these issues, the board decided to shift the intermediate exams to a later date.
Sources further revealed that many arrangements are still not finalized. For example, around 300 exam centers still need official approval before they can be used. There has also been no official notification about any extra marks for students, which some were expecting.
In addition, there are serious delays in important administrative work. More than 27,000 exam forms are still being checked, and the process of tabulating marks has not started yet. These delays have made it impossible to conduct exams on time.
Due to all these problems, students in both Balochistan and Sindh are facing a lot of stress and confusion. They have been preparing for exams, but now they don’t know when the tests will happen. Many students are worried because there is no clear information or timeline from the boards.
