ICC WTC 2025–27 Points Table: India Climb to Third After Beating West Indies

India have further solidified their position in the latest ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 points table after a dominant performance against the West Indies in Delhi. The hosts sealed the two-match series with a clean sweep, displaying complete control in all departments of the game.

After winning the opening Test in Ahmedabad with ease, Shubman Gill’s men entered the Delhi Test full of confidence. However, the West Indies put up some resistance this time, forcing India to work harder before they finally secured a 7-wicket victory.

Jaiswal and Gill Shine with the Bat

Once again, Yashasvi Jaiswal proved why he is regarded as one of India’s brightest young Test talents. The left-hander played a breathtaking knock of 175 runs in the first innings, showcasing superb timing and temperament. His innings laid a strong foundation for India’s big total. Captain Shubman Gill also continued his brilliant form, remaining unbeaten on 129 runs as India declared at a massive 518 for 5.

In reply, the West Indies were bowled out for 248 runs in their first innings. The Indian bowlers, led by the spinners, maintained pressure throughout, forcing the visitors to follow on.

West Indies Fight Back But Fall Short

Despite facing an uphill battle, the West Indies showed some fight in their second innings. John Campbell played a fine knock of 115, while Shai Hope displayed grit and determination with a well-crafted 103. Their partnership helped the visitors post 390 runs, but it wasn’t enough to save the game.

India comfortably chased down the modest target of 121 runs, sealing another convincing win. The triumph pushed India’s points percentage to 61.90%, with four wins, two losses, and one draw from seven matches in the ongoing WTC cycle.

Meanwhile, the West Indies’ struggles continue, as they have now lost all five of their matches in this WTC period, leaving them at the bottom of the table.
