Bank Alfalah customers can add their credit and debit cards or digital details to Google Wallet on Android and Wear OS devices. As one of Pakistan’s top banks, this step shows its commitment to making digital payments easier and safer for everyone. By introducing Google Wallet, Bank Alfalah is helping customers enjoy a smooth and secure way to pay, whether in stores, apps, or online.
Google Wallet makes contactless payments simple and secure. Instead of using real card details, it creates a virtual card number, adding extra protection against fraud. It also has strong security features, including tokenization and device protection. If a phone is lost or stolen, users can lock it, set a new password, or erase their personal data using the ‘Find My Device’ feature. These security measures make Google Wallet even safer than carrying a physical card.
But Google Wallet is more than just a payment tool—it’s a digital storage space for important things like loyalty cards, event tickets, and boarding passes. Users can easily add items by tapping the ‘Add to Google Wallet’ button during purchases or by adding them manually in the app. It also offers easy-to-use privacy settings, allowing customers to control what information is stored.
Mehreen Ahmed, Group Head of Retail Banking at Bank Alfalah, shared her excitement about this new feature. She said, “At Bank Alfalah, we always aim to bring the latest digital solutions to our customers. The addition of Google Wallet is a step towards secure, fast, and hassle-free payments. Our goal is to make banking more accessible while ensuring strong security for our customers.”
Businesses will also benefit from Google Wallet. In stores, payments become quicker with just a tap, reducing wait times and making checkout faster. Online stores using Google Pay can offer a smoother and more secure shopping experience, making transactions easier for customers.
Google Wallet is available for Android users with version 5.2 or later. As of December 2024, Android users in Pakistan make up 94.81% of the mobile market. Google Wallet supports secure payments across different platforms, including retail stores and online shopping. Customers can download the Google Wallet app from the Google Play Store, link their Bank Alfalah credit or debit card, and start using it instantly for secure and easy transactions anywhere contactless payments are accepted.
