Many Pakistani citizens face rejection when they apply for a Austria Schengen visa. One of the biggest reasons is the lack of proper proof of financial means. Embassies want to be sure that the applicant can support themselves during their stay in Europe.
Incorrect Bank Statements Can Lead to Visa Rejection
Submitting a fake or incorrect bank statement is one of the main reasons for a visa denial. That’s why it is very important for Pakistani applicants to provide a valid and accurate bank statement when applying for a Schengen visa, especially for tourist purposes.
Austria – A Beautiful European Destination
Austria is a popular tourist destination in Europe, known for its beautiful mountains, historic cities, and peaceful environment. People from all over the world visit Austria to enjoy its scenic beauty and cultural sites.
Pakistani Citizens Need a Type-C Schengen Visa for Austria
If you are a Pakistani passport holder and want to visit Austria for tourism, you need to apply for a Type-C Schengen visa. This visa allows foreign nationals to stay in Austria and other Schengen countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
Visa Application Process in Pakistan
The Embassy of Austria in Pakistan has outsourced its visa application and passport return process to an external company called VFS Global. This means Pakistani applicants must submit their visa applications through VFS, not directly at the Austrian Embassy.
Visa Fee for Pakistani Citizens
- The Schengen visa fee for Pakistani applicants is PKR 15,040.
- In addition to this, VFS charges a separate service fee of PKR 7,520.
So, in total, an applicant will need to pay around PKR 22,560 for the complete visa processing.
Financial Requirements for Austria Visit Visa
One of the most important documents for your Austria Schengen visa application is a bank statement. This shows the embassy that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay.
Applicants must submit their bank account statements from the last 6 months, which should include the bank’s address and contact number. You can provide statements from your current account or savings account.
How Much Money Do You Need?
If you plan to stay in Austria for the full 90 days, you will need around €9,200 to €10,800 to cover your expenses like accommodation, food, transportation, and other daily needs.
As of July 23, 2025, the open market exchange rate in Pakistan for 1 Euro is PKR 334.4. This means:
- For 90 days, you will need approximately PKR 3 million to 4 million in your account.
- Your bank statement should clearly show that you have this amount available and that the funds are legally earned or saved.
- Always provide genuine documents.
- Avoid using fake bank statements or documents created by agents.
- Make sure your bank statement is well-organized, shows regular income or savings, and includes all required contact details.
Providing complete and truthful documents will increase your chances of getting your visa approved and enjoying your trip to Austria smoothly.
