Haris Rauf Leads San Francisco Unicorns to MLC 2025 Playoffs

The San Francisco Unicorns have made history by becoming the first team to secure a spot in the playoffs of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 season. A big reason behind their success is Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf, who has led their bowling attack with incredible skill and consistency. His performances have been a key part of the team’s unbeaten run so far.

Last year, Haris Rauf didn’t have a great season in the MLC, but the Unicorns decided to keep faith in him for the 2025 edition. That decision has paid off brilliantly. This season, he has emerged as the best bowler in the league, silencing all critics and proving why he is considered one of the most feared T20 bowlers in the world.

Rauf has taken 16 wickets in just six matches, making him the leading wicket-taker in MLC 2025. He is averaging just 13.18 runs per wicket, which shows how difficult he has been to score off. Whether it’s the powerplay overs or the crucial death overs, Haris has delivered again and again, using his pace and accuracy to trouble every batting line-up.

The Unicorns have played six matches and won all of them, staying undefeated in the tournament so far. They currently sit on top of the MLC 2025 points table with 12 points and a net run rate of +2.472, which is the highest among all teams by a big margin. Their place in the playoffs was sealed after a strong victory against the Seattle Orcas.

Before that, the Unicorns had already beaten other top teams like Washington Freedom, Texas Super Kings, and MI New York. These wins were not just narrow escapes—they were commanding performances that showed how well-balanced and confident the team has become.

While Haris Rauf has been the star, he’s not alone in this journey. His bowling partner Xavier Bartlett has also impressed with his pace and control. Bartlett has taken 10 wickets so far and currently holds the second spot in the tournament’s wicket charts. Together, the Rauf-Bartlett duo has made life extremely hard for opposing teams, keeping pressure on from both ends.

On the batting side, New Zealand’s Finn Allen has been sensational. He has scored 298 runs in just five innings, with an amazing average of 59.60 and a strike rate of 246.28—the highest in the tournament. His aggressive approach at the top of the order has given the Unicorns fast starts and helped set or chase big totals with ease.

Hassan Khan, the Pakistani all-rounder, has also played some important knocks in the middle order. Meanwhile, players like Matthew Short, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Romario Shepherd have stepped up in key moments to support the team.

With both the batting and bowling units performing well, the San Francisco Unicorns are now seen as serious title contenders for MLC 2025. Haris Rauf, in particular, is playing some of the best cricket of his career, and this tournament is becoming a platform for him to show once again why he is considered one of the top T20 bowlers in the world.

His fiery spells and match-winning performances are not only helping the Unicorns win games but are also inspiring the team to chase what could be a historic season in American cricket.
