Government Announces Early Salary and Pensions Payment Before Eid-ul-Adha 2025

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has announced that all salaries and pensions for employees working in the provincial government will be paid out by May 30. This decision has been made so that everyone can receive their payments before the possible upcoming Eid-ul-Adha holidays.

The Finance Department released an official notice about this plan. In the notification, they instructed all the provincial departments and government offices to make sure that payments are completed before the end of the working month. This means that no payments will be delayed or left for after the month closes.

One reason for this early payment is that June 1 falls on a Sunday this year. Since Sunday is a non-working day, the government wants to avoid any delays that might happen if payments were to be processed on that day. Paying everyone by May 30 ensures all employees get their money on time without any problems.

This announcement comes at a time when people in the country are waiting to hear the official date of Eid-ul-Adha. The exact date of this festival depends on the sighting of the moon of Zul-Hijjah, which is the twelfth and last month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

To decide this, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has scheduled a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on May 27. This meeting will be held in Islamabad and will be led by Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, who is the chairman of the committee. The purpose of the meeting is to officially confirm when the month of Zul-Hijjah will begin.

At the same time, regional or zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees will also meet on May 27 at their provincial headquarters. These committees help by gathering reports from different places about whether the new crescent moon has been seen or not.

A spokesperson from the Ministry explained, “If the moon is sighted on May 27, then Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on June 6. But if the moon is not seen on that day, the festival will be held one day later, on June 7.”

Meanwhile, experts in astronomy have predicted that it is more likely that the moon will be visible on May 28 instead of May 27. This means that most parts of the country might celebrate Eid-ul-Adha on June 7, according to their calculations.
