Germany Work Visa Applications Now Online – Here’s How to Apply from Pakistan

The Germany Embassy in Islamabad has announced a major update for people applying for employment visas. From June 16, 2025, all employment visa applications must be submitted through the Consular Services Portal at digital.diplo.de/visa. This new online system is designed to make the application process faster and more organized.

German Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Alfred Grannas, shared this important news and explained the purpose behind this change. He said the goal is to speed up the visa process and increase the number of visas issued, making it easier for skilled workers from Pakistan to go to Germany for job opportunities.

As part of this new process, the embassy has closed and deleted all previous waiting lists for employment visas. This means that if you were waiting for your turn under the old system and did not get an appointment, you will now need to apply again using the new portal.

However, there’s good news for those who have already received an appointment through the old method. These appointments will still be valid. You should attend your appointment as scheduled and do not need to reapply.

This system will officially start working from June 16, 2025. Any applications made before this date will not be accepted unless you already had a confirmed appointment.
