Germany Karachi Consulate Resumes Visa Services for Non-EU Citizens

The Consulate General of Germany in Karachi has officially resumed all of its services for non-European Union (non-EU) citizens. This announcement comes just days after the consulate suddenly suspended these services on June 28 without any clear explanation.

In a statement released on Monday, the German Consulate confirmed that all consular and visa-related services for non-EU nationals are now fully active and running as usual.

“The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Karachi has resumed normal operations for non-EU citizens,” the official statement read.

The sudden halt in operations on June 28 had caused major disruption. All confirmed visa appointments for non-EU applicants were canceled without any prior notice. People were left confused and disappointed, especially because the consulate did not provide a reason for the closure at that time.

Instead, affected applicants were told to re-register through the online appointment system, which added to the frustration for many. Some individuals had urgent travel plans, while others were waiting for work, study, or family visit visas.

The temporary closure sparked concern among travelers, students, and travel agents who rely heavily on the consulate’s timely processing of visas. Many applicants expressed worry over delays, especially with travel dates approaching fast.

Now that services have restarted, people can once again move forward with their visa applications, submit necessary documents, and make other consular requests. The consulate has also acknowledged the trouble this pause may have caused and expressed its appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation during the unexpected shutdown.

Although the operations are back to normal, the short disruption highlighted the importance of communication and consistency in visa processing. Many applicants hope that such suspensions will not happen again without a proper reason and advance notice.

For now, the German Consulate in Karachi is functioning smoothly, and non-EU applicants are encouraged to book their appointments online and continue with their application processes as usual.
