Vishnu Manchu is an Indian actor and film producer. His full name is Manchu Vishnu Vardhan Babu. He was born on 23rd November 1981 in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India. Vishnu Manchu is best known for Achari America Yatra (2018), Voter (2019), Mosagallu (2021), Ginna (2022) and Kannappa (2025). Vishnu Manchu began his acting career as a child artist in his father Mohan Babu’s 1985 film Ragile Gundelu. He made his debut as a lead actor with the film Vishnu (2003), directed by Shaji Kailas. His performance earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. In the film, he portrayed a young man determined to win over his childhood love through his own efforts, despite numerous challenges. In 2004, he starred in Suryam, playing a character driven by the desire to fulfill his late mother’s last wish. The following year, Manchu made a cameo appearance as a dancer in Political Rowdy (2005), a romantic action drama.
In 2017, Vishnu Manchu starred in Luckunnodu, which unfortunately performed poorly at the box office. By the end of that year, he had already appeared in 20 films. His 2018 releases included the crime drama Gayatri, featuring Shriya Saran and his father Mohan Babu in pivotal roles, as well as the comedy film Achari America Yatra. He followed this with the political thriller Voter in 2019. On August 18, 2023, Vishnu announced his dream project Kannappa with a pooja ceremony held at the sacred Srikalahasti temple in Andhra Pradesh. He and his father, Mohan Babu, are co-producing the film with a massive ₹100 crore budget, and shooting began in September 2023.
At the Cannes Film Festival in 2024, after attending the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1, Vishnu Manchu, accompanied by his wife Viranica Manchu and his father Mohan Babu, along with renowned choreographer and actor Prabhu Deva, presented a teaser of Kannappa to a select audience. The teaser received warm applause and appreciation from attendees.
Vishnu Manchu tied the knot with Viranica Reddy in 2009. She is the niece of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who was serving as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh at that time. The couple welcomed twin daughters in 2011, a son in January 2018, and a daughter in August 2019.
