Vasay Chaudhry is a famous Pakistani screenwriter, actor, director, producer, host, and comedian. He was born on 12th November 1981 in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. He is best known for writing sitcoms and comedy-dramas for Pakistani television, as well as for his work in films. His notable film credits include Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani. While Main Hoon Shahid Afridi received moderate success, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani became a landmark hit, breaking previous box office records and grossing over Rs. 490 million. Vasay Chaudhry has been married to Mahera Shah since 2008, and together they have three daughters.
He also penned its sequel, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, which was released on Eid al-Adha in 2018. The film set a new benchmark by becoming the highest-grossing Pakistani film at the time, surpassing Rs. 700 million worldwide. His most notable TV projects include Timmy G, Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat, Takkay Ki Ayegi Baraat, Inspector Khojee, Kash Tu Mera Baap Na Hota, Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti, the telefilm Armaan, and the acclaimed drama Jackson Heights. He considers Kash Tu Mera Baap Na Hota (Geo TV, 2011), Inspector Khojee, and Jackson Heights to be among his personal favorites. In film, he made his debut with the screenplay for Main Hoon Shahid Afridi in 2013, which was both a commercial hit and well-received by critics and audiences alike.
