Takuya Kimura (木村 拓哉 ) is a Japanese actor, singer & radio personality, His also known as Kimura Takuya, He was born on 13th November 1972 in Tokyo, Japan. Takuya Kimura joined Johnny’s & Associates in November 1987 and began his career as a member of the “Skate Boys.” In April 1988, he was selected to join the new idol group SMAP, which debuted in 1991 and went on to become one of Japan’s most successful and beloved boy bands.
Takuya Kimura’s acting career took off in 1993 with his lead role in Asunaro Hakusho, followed by Wakamono no Subete (1994). His film debut in Shoot! (1994) earned him the Nikkan Sports Film Award and the Elan d’Or Award for Newcomers, cementing his status as both a pop idol and a serious actor. Over the years, he has become synonymous with high-rating television dramas, holding the top three spots for the most-watched Japanese dramas of all time with Hero, Beautiful Life, and Good Luck!, each exceeding 30% viewership. Notably, all 11 episodes of Hero maintained over 30% viewership, a record in Japanese TV history.
Beyond acting, Kimura made waves in advertising when he became the first male celebrity to promote lipsticks for Kanebo’s Testimo II range in 1996, tripling the brand’s sales in a month.

After SMAP disbanded in 2016, Kimura pursued a solo career, releasing his debut album Go with the Flow in 2020 under Victor Entertainment. His popularity transcends generations, as seen when his Weibo account gained over 290,000 followers on its first day and his Instagram reached over a million in 24 hours.
Married to singer Kudo Shizuka since December 5, 2000, Kimura is the father of two daughters, Cocomi and Kōki, both successful models. His younger brother, Shunsaku Kimura, was part of Japan’s National American Football Team.
