Legendary Pakistani filmmaker and writer Syed Noor has finally broken his silence on the recent criticism made by actors Resham and Saud Qasmi. In a podcast appearance, the senior director calmly and confidently shared his side of the story, addressing the statements made by both artists with grace and clarity.
While talking about Resham, Syed Noor said, “If not being with me affected my career, then where did she reach as an actress?” He explained that some of Resham’s earliest and most successful films including Dupatta Jal Raha Hai, Ghungat, and Jeeva were directed by him. However, he added that Resham was not suitable for every kind of role, which is why he eventually began casting other actors for his projects.
Syed Noor further shared that after he stopped casting Resham, she did not deliver any major hit films. “I worked very hard to build her career,” he said. “But I will never reveal how I groomed her as an artist.” He emphasized that his career continued to flourish with several successful films even after parting ways with Resham, proving that her absence did not harm his professional journey.
Addressing Saud Qasmi’s comments, Syed Noor took a softer and more understanding tone. He said, “I don’t think Saud meant to criticize me. I understand why he said what he did. Maybe he meant that when people like me and Shaan Shahid stepped away from films, the industry became weaker.” His calm response showed that he did not take the remarks personally and instead chose to look at them from a broader perspective.
Syed Noor also added that both Resham and Saud are like his children, and he holds no anger toward them. “I never get upset at such comments,” he said. “People who don’t reach your level will always talk about you. Saud is a good actor, and he has every right to express his opinion.”
