Vinayagar Sundar Vel, popularly known as Sundar C, is an Indian filmmaker, actor, and playback singer, born on 21 January 1968. Renowned for his extensive contributions to Tamil cinema, he has directed over 30 films and is celebrated for his flair in crafting commercial entertainers. Sundar C has been recognized with the prestigious Kalaimamani award for his contributions to the arts and is widely regarded as one of Tamil cinema’s most successful and consistent directors.

Throughout his career, Sundar C has helmed several iconic films, including Ullathai Allitha (1996), Arunachalam (1997) starring Rajinikanth, and Anbe Sivam (2003), which has since achieved cult status. His knack for blending comedy and action is evident in hits like Winner (2003), Giri (2004), and Kalakalappu (2012). He is also the creator of the successful Aranmanai horror-comedy franchise, which has grown into a cinematic universe spanning 2014 to 2024, with the upcoming Madha Gaja Raja (2025) generating anticipation.

In addition to directing and acting, Sundar C has been active as a producer alongside his wife, actress Khushbu Sundar. Together, they produced popular Tamil television serials such as Nandini (2017–2018), Maya (2018), and Jothi (2021).
