Simerjit Singh is the Indian Director and Producer. He was born on December 6, 1973, in Moga, Punjab, India. The showbiz journey of Simerjit Singh began in Bollywood. In 1998, he made his debut as an assistant director with the romantic comedy Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha (1998), directed by Anees Bazmee and starring Ajay Devgan and Kajol. Simerjit then assisted filmmakers like Anil Devgan in Raju Chacha (2000) and Rohit Shetty in Zameen (2003) before making his independent directorial debut with Chak Jawana (2010).

In 2013, Simerjit’s second effort as a director, Daddy Cool Munde Fool, was a critical and commercial success. In 2015, when his fourth film, the historical romantic drama Angrej, opened to near-universal critical acclaim, the director shot to the top of Punjabi cinema.

It was followed by Nikka Zaildar (2016) and its sequel Nikka Zaildar 2 (2017), both of which performed well at the box office and received positive reviews. Simerjit directed the biographical war drama Subedar Joginder Singh in 2018, which starred Gippy Grewal and Aditi Sharma. In 2019, he will release Muklawa and Nikka, and Zaildar 3, and also Directed Angraj 2 which will be released on coming soon in 2023.
