Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Sergio Duque immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of four. He began modeling shortly after high school and launched his acting career in college, where he made his stage debut in a production of The Tempest.
His first major break came in 1995, when he landed a lead role opposite Ron Palillo (best known as Horshak from the 1970s TV show Welcome Back, Kotter) in The Premier Theater Company’s production of Guys and Dolls. He also performed alongside Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Zombieland, Justice League) in the company’s productions of Oliver! and Peter Pan.
Before relocating to California to pursue a career in film and television, Sergio played leading roles in over 50 musical productions throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. His credits include iconic shows such as Jekyll and Hyde, Jesus Christ Superstar, Man of La Mancha, and Godspell. He also wrote, directed, and starred in an original Off-Broadway production, Broadway Good and Evil, which played to sold-out audiences and is now archived in the Library of Congress as part of his body of work.
After moving to California, Sergio quickly booked a 10-day shoot for the cult film Zombie Strippers, starring Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street). Since then, he has appeared in over 20 non-union films and commercials, including a national campaign for Rexona Deodorant and a lead role as Judas in the television program Biblical Mysteries Explained – The Lost Gospels of Judas, which traditionally airs during Easter week.
Sergio began writing in 1992, and his work quickly attracted attention in Hollywood. He is currently represented by the Jerry Pace Agency in Beverly Hills. His full-length feature scripts Godlins and Visions Evilutions are both slated to begin production in the coming year.
Most recently, Sergio has completed the first two of ten episodes for Season 1 of The Paraseekers, a paranormal investigative series that follows a team of researchers documenting compelling evidence of the afterlife. The series has received widespread acclaim for its raw, emotional, and unfiltered footage.
