Samuel John is an Indian actor and theatre activist. He was born on 18th April, 1965 in Village Dhilwan, Faridkot district, Punjab, India. The actor, Samuel John is best known for his Alms for a Blind Horse (2011), Kaali Khuhi (2020), Kohrra (2023). Apart, Samuel John also will be a part of the new upcoming Indian Punajbi movie Zindagi Zindabaad (2023).
The popular actor, Samuel John has a Master’s degree in Television and Theatre from Panjabi University in Patiala, Punjab. Samuel is a theatre enthusiast. He leads a theatre group by the name of ‘Peoples’ Theatre Lehragaga’. The group was formed with the sole vision of taking theatre to rural areas. He played the lead in the Punjabi adaptation of Om Prakash Valmiki’s autobiography titled ‘Jooth’. He directed the Punjabi version of Macbeth by Shakespeare.
He also worked in plays such as Baagan Da Raakha, Maat Lok, Ghasia Hoia Aadmi, and Tain Ki Dard Na Aaya. He starred in the Punjabi film Anhe Ghore Da Daan which won National Awards for its direction, cinematography, and The Best Feature Film category. His filmography includes Kaali Khuhi (2020), Police in Pollywood (2014), and Dhoondte Reh Jaoge! (1998), and short films like Aatu Khoji (2010) and Takkhi (2018).
