Sairi Ito (伊藤 沙莉) is a Japanese actress. Her also known as Itō Sairi, She was born on 4th May 1994 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Sairi Ito made her acting debut in 2003 in the television drama 14-kagetsu: Tsuma ga Kodomo ni Kaette Iku, despite having no prior acting experience. In the series, she portrayed a female researcher whose body transforms into that of a young girl—a challenging role that marked the beginning of her successful acting journey.
Born into a hardworking family, Ito’s upbringing was shaped by resilience and creativity. Her mother chose her name “Sairi,” while her grandfather selected the kanji “沙” (sa, meaning sand), giving her name its distinctive character. She is the youngest of three siblings; her older brother, Shunsuke Ito, is a member of the popular comedy duo Oswald. Their father once ran a road construction company that went bankrupt after the collapse of Japan’s economic bubble, leading to significant financial hardship. Following her parents’ divorce, Sairi and her siblings were raised by their mother and aunt. Her mother, who worked multiple jobs—including delivering milk and working at a snack bar—eventually became a painter, inspiring Sairi’s sense of perseverance and artistry.

Ito has partial Korean ancestry but has stated she cannot speak Korean and has never traveled abroad. Initially, she aspired to be a dancer before finding her passion in acting. Over the years, she has appeared in numerous acclaimed productions, including the 2017 asadora Hiyokko. In February 2023, she was announced as the lead actress for the NHK asadora The Tiger and Her Wings, based on the life of Yoshiko Mibuchi, one of Japan’s first female lawyers.
In her personal life, Ito confirmed in April 2022 that she was dating screenwriter Ryuta Horai, eighteen years her senior. On January 4, 2025, she announced on her radio show that they had married at the end of 2024.
