Rukmini Vasanth (born 10 December 1996) is an Indian actress known for her work in the Kannada film industry. She made her lead acting debut with Birbal Trilogy Case 1: Finding Vajramuni (2019), and rose to prominence with her critically acclaimed performance as Priya in Sapta Saagaradaache Ello – Side A and Side B (2023), winning the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress – Kannada. Rukmini’s on-screen charm and emotive performances have made her one of the most sought-after actresses in Sandalwood.

Born in Bangalore, Rukmini is the daughter of Colonel Vasanth Venugopal, Karnataka’s first recipient of the Ashoka Chakra, who was martyred in 2007 during anti-infiltration operations in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir. Her mother, Subhashini Vasanth, is a renowned Bharatanatyam dancer and social worker supporting war widows through her foundation. Rukmini completed her schooling at Army School, Air Force School, and Centre for Learning, before graduating with an acting degree from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in London.

In addition to her success in Kannada cinema, Rukmini has expanded her horizons with a Telugu film debut in Appudo Ippudo Eppudo opposite Nikhil Siddhartha. She also starred in Baanadariyalli (2023), and two major 2024 Kannada releases: Bagheera opposite Sriimurali and Bhairathi Ranagal with Shiva Rajkumar. With her graceful screen presence and versatile acting skills, Rukmini continues to establish herself as a rising star in South Indian cinema.
