Roopesh Shetty is an Indian actor, director, radio jockey, and model known for his work in Tulu, Kannada, and Konkani cinema. He gained widespread recognition after emerging as the winner of both Bigg Boss Kannada OTT Season 1 and Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 in 2022. Born in Kasaragod, Kerala, into a Tulu-speaking Bunt family, Roopesh initially found his footing in the entertainment industry through digital media, uploading Tulu comedy album songs on YouTube. His dynamic presence and charm soon led him to work as a radio jockey and video jockey in Mangaluru.

Roopesh began his acting career with a supporting role in the Tulu film Dibbana and later played the lead in Ice Cream (2015). Despite the film not performing well at the box office, he remained persistent, venturing into Kannada cinema with the film Danger Zone, which also struggled commercially. However, his breakthrough came with the Tulu film Girgit, which he not only acted in but also co-directed with Rakesh Kadri. The film was both a critical and commercial success, marking a turning point in his career and establishing him as a prominent figure in regional cinema.

Building on the success of Girgit, Roopesh directed and starred in Gamjaal (2021), a Tulu comedy that turned profitable within just three days of its release. His win in two Bigg Boss Kannada seasons further elevated his popularity and solidified his fan base across Karnataka and the coastal regions. With his multifaceted talents and growing influence, Roopesh Shetty continues to be a key player in the Tulu and Kannada entertainment industries.
