Rakhi’s open support comes at a time when Diljit Dosanjh is facing major backlash in India for casting a Pakistani actress in the lead role. Various Indian film worker unions, including the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), have criticized the decision and called for a ban on Diljit. Some even demanded a complete boycott of the film.
Despite the controversy, Rakhi Sawant is one of the few Indian celebrities who stood by Hania Aamir and appreciated her talent instead of focusing on the negativity. She showed that talent should be celebrated beyond borders and politics. Her warm words were well received by fans of Hania Aamir, who are also looking forward to seeing her shine on the big screen.
