Raj Chakraborty is an well-known Indian film director, actor, producer and politician. She was born on 21st February 1975 in Halisahar, West Bengal, India. The handsome actor, Raj Chakraborty is one of the most commercially successful and influential filmmakers in the Bengali film industry, popularly known as Tollywood. Known for blending mass appeal with meaningful storytelling, Chakraborty has directed several blockbuster films that have shaped modern Bengali cinema. Before stepping into the world of films, he made a name for himself in Bengali television, where his creativity and direction earned him widespread recognition. He was associated with Mirakkel, the immensely popular Zee Bangla laughter show hosted by Mir, and Dance Bangla Dance, the hit dance reality show judged by the legendary Mithun Chakraborty. Both shows became cultural phenomena under his direction. He also directed I Laugh You, a comedy programme on Star Jalsha, further establishing his reputation as a versatile television director.

Born and raised in Halisahar, West Bengal, Raj Chakraborty graduated from Rishi Bankim Chandra Colleges, Naihati, affiliated with West Bengal State University. His passion for the performing arts began early, as he worked backstage for various theatre productions in his locality between 1993 and 1995. Determined to pursue a career in entertainment, he left home after graduation and moved to Belgachia to start his journey in acting. In 1996, he relocated to Netaji Nagar, Kolkata, where he began to build his career from the ground up, working tirelessly to understand the nuances of performance and direction.
