Raadhika Sarathkumar is a well-known Indian actress, film producer, entrepreneur & politician. She was born on 21st August 1963 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Raadhika mainly works in Tamil TV serials & films. She has worked in various languages including Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada. Raadhika Sarathkumar will also be a part of the new upcoming Indian movie Dhruva Natchathiram (2023). She is the founder of the film production company Radaan Mediaworks in Chennai. In the year 1978, Raadhika made her debut as an actor in the Tamil film ‘Kizhakke Pogum Rail’ in which she played the role of Panchaali. She appeared in many popular Tamil films like ‘Kannitheevu’ (1981), ‘Eera Vizhi Kaaviyangal’ (1982), ‘Raja Rishi’ (1985), ‘Vaanam Kottatum’ (2020), ‘Jail’ (2021), ‘Pattathu Arasan’ (2022), Aadikeshava (2023) and she is also starring in the upcoming Tamil movie Dhruva Natchathiram (2023).
In the year 1981, Raadhika Sarathkumar made her Telugu film debut with ‘Nyayam Kavali’ in which she played the role of Bharathi Devi. From 1981 to 1989, she appeared in more than 120 Telugu films. Some of her popular Telugu films from that era are ‘Bezawada Bebbuli’ (1983), ‘Patnam Vachina Pativrathalu’ (1982), ‘Abhilasha’ (1983), ‘Raja the Great’ (2017), and ‘Krishna Vrinda Vihari’ (2022). Raadhika made her Bollywood debut in 1979 with the film ‘Hamaare Tumhare’ in which she played the role of Sonia. Some of the Hindi films in which she worked as an actress include ‘Naseeb Apna Apna’ (1986), ‘Aaj Ka Arjun’ (1990), ‘Himmatwala’ (1998), and ‘Lal Baadshah’ (1999). In 2022, she made her web series debut with the Telugu web series ‘Gaalivaana’ (ZEE5) in which she played the role of Saraswathi.
Raadhika Sarathkumar belongs to a Hindu family. Raadhika is the daughter of the late Tamil actor and comedian, Mr. R. Radha and Geetha. Raadhika was educated in India and the UK. She has a younger sister Nirosha, who is also an actress, and two younger brothers Raju and Mohan. She also has an older half-brother Radha Ravi. Raadhika married actor Sarathkumar on February 4, 2001. They were friends before their marriage and had been partnered in two films: Namma Annachi (1994) and Suryavamsam (1997). The couple have a son named Rahul who was born in 2004. His daughter Rayane married cricketer Abhimanyu Mithun in 2016. Raadhika became a grandmother in 2018 when Rayane gave birth to a son.
