R. B. Choudary is an Indian film producer. His also known as Ratanlal Bhagatram Choudary. He was born in Chennai, India. He has worked across multiple film industries, predominantly in Tamil and Telugu, with a few Malayalam and Hindi films. He is also the founder of the production company Super Good Films. He began his career in the Malayalam film industry, producing several movies under the banner Super. His keen eye for promising talent and commercial scripts quickly established him as a respected name in regional cinema.
In 1989, R. B. Choudary expanded into the Tamil film industry and began producing films under the Super banner in collaboration with R. Mohan, who was also known for manufacturing Good Knight mosquito mats. When the partnership eventually ended, Choudary cleverly rebranded his production company as Super Good Films, borrowing the word Good from Good Knight to create a distinctive new identity. This marked the beginning of one of the most prolific eras in Tamil cinema production.

Over the decades, Super Good Films produced numerous blockbusters and became known for nurturing fresh directorial and acting talent. The studio gave several top Tamil filmmakers their first break, including K. S. Ravikumar (Puriyaadha Pudhir), Vikraman (Pudhu Vasantham), Sasi (Sollamale), Ezhil (Thullatha Manamum Thullum), and N. Lingusamy (Aanandham). Each of these films not only succeeded commercially but also played a significant role in shaping the trajectory of Tamil cinema during the 1990s and early 2000s.
Choudary’s 50th production, Aasai Aasaiyai (2003), introduced his youngest son, Jiiva, as a lead actor. The studio’s 85th film, Jilla (2014), featuring Vijay and Mohanlal, became a major box-office success. In recent years, Choudary’s son, actor Jithan Ramesh, has taken on co-managerial responsibilities, ensuring that Super Good Films continues its legacy. As of today, the banner remains synonymous with quality filmmaking and cinematic excellence across South India.
