Nandakumar, popularly known as Poster Nandakumar, is an Indian actor, producer, and poster distributor who has predominantly worked in Tamil cinema. Born on August 26, 1967, he gained recognition for his breakthrough acting roles in Madras (2014) and Vil Ambu (2016), the latter of which he also produced. Though his primary business has been film poster distribution, Nandakumar’s compelling screen presence, especially in negative roles, has earned him critical acclaim and awards.

Coming from a family deeply rooted in the film poster business since the 1950s, Nandakumar manages Chennai’s largest film poster distribution service. His transition into acting was serendipitous — during a routine visit to Studio Green for poster distribution discussions, director Pa. Ranjith noticed his charisma and persuaded him to act in Madras (2014). Initially hesitant, Nandakumar eventually accepted the offer. His performance was widely appreciated, earning him the SIIMA Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role, which opened doors to further acting opportunities in the Tamil film industry.

Following his success in Madras, Nandakumar took on dual responsibilities as actor and producer in Vil Ambu (2016). He continued to appear in significant supporting and antagonist roles in notable films such as Kabali (2016) alongside Rajinikanth, Nibunan (2016), Rukkumani Vandi Varudhu (2016), and the recent Lal Salaam (2024).
