Pakistani Tiktoker Jannat Mirza is once again in the headlines after an old interview from 2020 resurfaced online. The interview, which is now going viral on social media, features the model and actress revealing that she had turned down a big Bollywood offer opposite Indian star Kartik Aaryan. This unexpected revelation has sparked fresh debates on cross-border entertainment and the complicated relationship between the Pakistani and Indian film industries.
In the interview, Jannat Mirza confidently claimed, “I was offered the female lead opposite Kartik Aaryan in a film, but I refused immediately. No Pakistani father would allow his daughter to work in India, and frankly, I never had any interest in going there.” She didn’t share the name of the film or the production house behind it, but her comments quickly caught the attention of fans and critics alike. The idea of a major Bollywood role being turned down shocked many.

Jannat also shared that she had rejected popular drama roles in the Pakistani TV industry. According to her, she was offered the role of Kabri Khan in the hit drama Where We Were True, and another role that was eventually played by actress Ushna Shah in Prezad. She didn’t go into full detail about why she turned down these opportunities, but mentioned that she didn’t agree with some of the creative choices.
Though she is a big name on TikTok and social media, Jannat’s acting career hasn’t been very active. She only has one film to her credit, Tere Bajre Di Rakhi, which was released in 2017. It was a Punjabi movie directed by the well-known filmmaker Syed Noor and also featured veteran actress Saima. Unfortunately, the film didn’t perform well at the box office, and Jannat shifted her focus to modeling, social media, and brand endorsements.
Her recent claims have received mixed reactions. Some industry experts are questioning the truth behind her story. Entertainment journalist Farhan Chaudhry commented, “Big Bollywood offers don’t just come out of nowhere. If there’s no name, director, or proof, it’s hard to believe completely.” This has led many to wonder why Jannat brought up these old offers now and whether they were as serious as she says.
Despite the doubts, many of her fans praised her for taking a stand and not compromising her values. Her decision, whether based on patriotism or personal belief, adds to the ongoing discussion about Pakistani artists working in India and vice versa. The resurfaced interview has reminded people how difficult it can be for celebrities in the region to make career decisions, especially when politics and public opinions are involved.
Whether her claims are true or not, Jannat Mirza’s story shows how challenging and complex the entertainment world can be. In the end, it’s clear that fame, opportunity, and personal values don’t always go hand in hand.
