Naoya Fujita (藤田直哉) is a Japanese Screenwriter, Director & Producer, He was born on 22nd March 1991 in Japan. He gained early recognition for his involvement in Nightmare Detective (2006), and later for directing Nemuru mushi (2019) and Long-Term Coffee Break (2022). In 2025, Fujita took on the roles of director and producer for Chihayafuru: Meguri, a live-action television sequel to the acclaimed Chihayafuru film trilogy. Set a decade after the original films, the series follows Meguru Aizawa, a reserved high school student and member of a struggling karuta club, and Kanade Oe, portrayed by Mone Kamishiraishi, who reprises her role as a now 25-year-old teacher and club advisor.

Fujita expressed his admiration for the original manga by Yuki Suetsugu and his commitment to delivering a drama that honors the legacy of the Chihayafuru series.
