Pakistani television host and actress Nadia Khan has once again sparked serious debate in the entertainment world by openly criticizing the Pakistani industry’s silence on recent Indian aggression — and particularly, its continued embrace of Indian lyricist Javed Akhtar.
Speaking on her morning show Rise and Shine, Nadia strongly condemned those Pakistani celebrities who, according to her, seek validation from India while remaining silent when Pakistan faces hostility. She directly named stars like Humayun Saeed, Mahira Khan, Saba Qamar, and Mawra Hocane, questioning their silence during critical moments when the nation needed them to speak up.
In a powerful statement, Nadia Khan warned the Pakistani industry against ever inviting Javed Akhtar again. “If relations between India and Pakistan normalize, I do not want this man to be seen or invited in Pakistan. I am warning you all — this man should not be invited to Pakistan in the future. Otherwise, you will see what I will do,” she said. Nadia called Akhtar “a shallow and extremely rude man,” criticizing those Pakistani celebrities who welcomed him despite his anti-Pakistan remarks.

She further added that top celebrities must step forward and raise their voices now. “Where are the top Pakistani actors? Come forward and speak. I want Saba Qamar, Mahira Khan, Mawra Hocane, Humayun Saeed and others to speak up against India. Yes, come forward — call out India. It is the time to speak.”
Nadia Khan’s bold stance has drawn attention and praise from many who believe it’s high time the entertainment industry puts national interest above cross-border praise.
