Mohan Natarajan was a veteran Tamil film producer and actor whose career spanned several decades. He began his journey in the film industry with the production of Pookkalai Parikkatheergal (1986) under his banner, Sri Rajakaliamman Enterprises. Over the years, he produced numerous successful films, including Kannukkul Nilavu (2000) starring Vijay, Aalwar (2007) featuring Ajith Kumar, Vel (2007) with Suriya, and Deiva Thirumagal (2011) starring Vikram. His productions were known for their commercial success and for featuring top-tier actors of Tamil cinema.
In addition to his work as a producer, Natarajan was also recognized for his acting, particularly in villainous roles. He delivered notable performances in films such as Mahanadhi (1994), where he portrayed a character involved in human trafficking, and Kottai Vaasal (1992), in which he played the antagonist Periyavar. His acting contributions added depth to the narratives of these films, showcasing his versatility in the industry.
Mohan Natarajan passed away on September 3, 2024, at the age of 71, due to age-related health issues. His body was kept at his residence in Saligramam, Chennai, for public homage, and he was cremated in Tiruvottiyur on September 4. His death was mourned by many in the Tamil film industry, with actor Suriya among those who paid their last respects. Natarajan’s legacy continues through the impactful films he produced and the memorable roles he portrayed.
