Mahaakshay Chakraborty, popularly known as Mimoh, is an Indian actor who primarily appears in Hindi films. Born on 30 July 1984 in Mumbai to renowned actors Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali, Mahaakshay hails from a celebrated film family. He has three siblings: Ushmey, Namashi, and Dishani Chakraborty. Growing up surrounded by cinema, Mahaakshay was naturally inclined towards acting, aiming to follow in his parents’ footsteps in the Indian film industry.
He made his acting debut with the 2008 film “Jimmy”, portraying the role of a DJ falsely accused of murder. However, the film was critically panned and failed at the box office, with reviewers noting his lack of preparation for the role. Despite a challenging start, Mahaakshay continued to pursue his passion for acting. His subsequent projects, “He- The Only One” (2010) and “The Murderer: Hamilton Palace” (2011), remained unreleased, but he persevered in his efforts to establish himself.
Mahaakshay achieved commercial success with the 2011 horror film “Haunted – 3D”, India’s first stereoscopic 3D horror movie. The film received mixed critical reviews but was praised for its visual effects and became a box office success. His performance was well-received, marking a turning point in his career. Since then, he has appeared in multiple films, gradually evolving as an actor and continuing his journey in the Indian entertainment industry.
