Milena Markovna “Mila” Kunis (born August 14, 1983) is an American actress who rose to fame playing Jackie Burkhart on That ’70s Show (1998–2006) and voicing Meg Griffin on Family Guy since 1999. Her breakout film role came in the 2008 comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and she earned critical acclaim for her performance in Black Swan (2010), receiving nominations for both a Golden Globe and a SAG Award.
Kunis has appeared in a wide range of genres, including action (Max Payne, The Book of Eli), romantic comedies (Friends with Benefits), fantasy (Oz the Great and Powerful), and mainstream comedies (Ted, Bad Moms, A Bad Moms Christmas).
Born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine (then part of the Soviet Union), Kunis immigrated to Los Angeles with her family at age 7 under a religious-refugee visa. Her parents, Elvira and Mark Kunis, left behind established careers to build a new life in the U.S. Her native language is Russian, and she has publicly stated she does not speak Ukrainian due to the timing of her emigration. Despite the challenges of adjusting to a new country, Kunis quickly adapted and began acting at a young age, eventually becoming one of Hollywood’s most recognizable talents.
