Pakistani actress Meera has once again made headlines, but this time it’s not about a film or a controversy. The senior actress has made an emotional appeal to the British government, asking them to grant her a UK visa so she can visit her ailing sister in London, who is currently battling cancer.
Meera, a well-known name in the Pakistani entertainment industry, shared a heartfelt video message on social media. In the message, she directly addressed British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, requesting her to reconsider Meera’s visa application on humanitarian grounds. The actress explained that her sister is seriously ill and undergoing treatment in London, and she wishes to be with her during this difficult time.
According to Meera, not only her sister but also her home and close family are based in the UK. She revealed that despite multiple attempts, she has not been able to visit London in recent years due to repeated visa rejections. Meera mentioned that a misunderstanding in the past led to these rejections, but the situation has now changed.
She also stated that she has attached all the necessary medical reports of her sister with her recent visa application. The actress emphasized that it’s not just a personal desire but a critical family need to be by her sister’s side while she fights a life-threatening illness.

Earlier this year, in February, Meera’s mother Shafqat Zahra had also spoken about the issue. She revealed that Meera was previously banned from entering the UK for 10 years because the British immigration authorities believed she did not have a strong command of the English language. That ban, however, has now officially ended, making Meera eligible to apply again.
Fans and fellow artists are now waiting to see how the British government responds to her request. Meera’s sincere plea is a reminder that beyond the glamour and spotlight, celebrities too face emotional struggles and family responsibilities like anyone else.
