Masahiro Takashima (髙嶋 政宏, Takashima Masahiro, born October 29, 1965, in Tokyo) is a Japanese actor and singer known for his versatile career in film, television, and music. He hails from a distinguished acting family—his father Tadao Takashima and mother Hanayo Sumi were both actors, and his younger brother Masanobu Takashima also followed in their footsteps. Takashima made his acting debut in the 1987 film Totto Channel, and gained widespread recognition later that year for his role in Busu, which won him multiple Best New Actor awards, including the Japan Academy Prize and honors from Blue Ribbon, Hochi, Kinema Junpo, and Mainichi Film Awards.
Throughout his career, Takashima has taken on diverse roles in major Japanese films, including appearances in Gunhed, Legend of Zipang (1990), Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II, and Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. He also starred in The Climbers High and Kakushi Toride no San-Akunin: The Last Princess, showcasing his range across action, historical, and drama genres. On television, he is recognized for his performance in the crime drama Sangaku Kyūjotai Shimon Ikki, adding to his reputation as a reliable and seasoned actor in Japanese entertainment.
