Mann Mast Malang has become one of Geo TV’s biggest hits, crossing over 500 million views and winning hearts across Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and beyond. Written by Tere Bin fame writer Nooran Makhdoom and directed by Ali Faizan, the drama tells the intense story of two rival families. The tension begins after Kabir Khan (played by Danish Taimoor) accidentally kills the mother of Riya Asghar Ali (played by Sahar Hashmi), leading to endless emotional drama and conflict.
In the latest episode (Episode 31), the show took a bold turn that has sparked mixed reactions. The scene featured Riya confessing her love to Kabir by hugging him in front of her siblings and saying yes to his proposal. While it was a dramatic and emotional moment, many viewers weren’t happy with the bold display in a family drama.
Fans took to social media to express their disappointment. One wrote, “I feel bad for Sikandar. Riya hugging Kabir and raising her voice in front of her brother was heartbreaking—he didn’t deserve that.” Another commented, “Sisters give up everything for their brothers, and here she’s disrespecting her brother for the man who ruined their family.” A few viewers also questioned the message behind the scene, saying, “How can anyone fall in love with the person responsible for their mother’s death?”
Others expressed concern over the increasing boldness shown in Pakistani dramas. “Why are we normalizing hugs and love scenes in front of family members in prime-time family dramas?” a user questioned.
While the drama continues to be a massive success, this recent episode has definitely stirred a debate online.
