Mamitha Baiju is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Malayalam and Tamil films. She made her acting debut in 2017 with Sarvopari Palakkaran and gradually gained attention for her roles in films like Operation Java (2021) and Kho Kho (2021). Her portrayal of relatable, youthful characters with natural charm helped her become a favorite among younger audiences. In 2022, she played the lead role in Super Sharanya, a coming-of-age comedy-drama that further established her as a promising lead actress. Her 2023 film Pranaya Vilasam also earned her critical appreciation for her emotional performance.
Mamitha was born in Kidangoor, Kottayam district, Kerala, to Dr. Baiju Krishnan and Mini. She has an elder brother named Mithun. Raised in a supportive family environment, Mamitha balanced her academic and artistic pursuits from a young age. She completed her schooling at Mary Mount Public School, Kattachira, and N.S.S. Higher Secondary School, Kidangoor. She later enrolled for a B.Sc in Psychology at Sacred Heart College, Kochi, but discontinued her studies during the third year due to attendance issues as her acting career became more demanding.
Her breakthrough came in 2024 with the romantic comedy Premalu, which became one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time. The film’s massive box office success and her charismatic performance brought her widespread popularity across South India. Known for her expressive acting, girl-next-door image, and relatable portrayals, Mamitha is now considered one of the most promising young actresses in the Malayalam film industry. She is expected to expand her presence in Tamil cinema as well, with several upcoming projects in the pipeline.
