Mahanadi Shankar is an Indian flim and television actor. He was born on 16 January 1966 born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He has appeared in films such as Mahanadi (1994), Baashha (1995), Ratchagan (1997), Amarkalam (1999), and Dheena (2001). After the success of the former film, he used the title as a prefix to his stage name.
After making his debut as an actor in Mahanadi (1994), he has worked in several Tamil films in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s. He mostly appeared in supporting roles and as an enemy or a comedy villain. In the movie Dheena, he used to call Ajith Kumar As “Thala”. Henceforth, Ajith Kumar is called “Thala” by his fans.
Mahanadi Shankar played Subba Rao in Suraj’s 2009 action Tamil film Padikkathavan with Dhanush, Tamannaah, Vivek, and Suman. On August 2, 2019, he act in the 2019 drama-fantasy film Jackpot. In 2010, he played ‘Drugs’ Ravi in C. S. Amudhan’s comedy film Thamizh Padam.
Recently, he played Inspector Ponmaanickam in K. Johnson’s 2021 comedy-romcom film Parris Jeyaraj. His other film credits include Indian (1996), Ratchagan (1997), Amarkalam (1999), Alli Arjuna (2002), and Charlie Chaplin (2002).
In 2021, Mahanadi Shankar played Thulukanam in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action-thriller film Master. His other television series credits include Nadhaswaram (2010-15), Maya (2019), Nandini (2019), and Vanathai Pola (2020) all on Sun TV.
