Nighat faces problems like arguments with her husband over their son’s behavior and scandals related to his actions. Despite knowing her son’s faults, Nighat continues to defend him out of love and denial.
Madiha shared that her character’s complexity made it more real and relatable. She said, “I enjoyed playing it because it had multiple layers. Nighat isn’t entirely black or white; she has both good and bad sides. She has been in this situation for 22 years, dealing with issues in her family. But at the end of the day, she is a mother, and her emotions take over when it comes to her son.”

Why She Almost Refused the Role

However, when the director and writer Mahesh encouraged her to read more episodes, she realized that the story had depth and uniqueness. They convinced her that the execution of the drama would be something special. After reading further, she liked both the character and the script, and she finally agreed to be part of the project.

Initially, another child was being considered, but the director decided to cast Illahi instead because he believed that the role suited him perfectly.
She further said, “We all knew this drama belonged to everyone, and that is why each of us gave our best. Sometimes, only a few actors shine while others fail to deliver, which affects the drama. But in Jama Taqseem, every actor performed strongly, and that made it a complete success.”
