Lee Yoon-jung (이윤정) is a South Korean television director and producer. She was born on 31st January 1974 in South Korea. Lee began her broadcasting career at MBC in 1997, quickly gaining recognition for her unique directing style. She stood out with short dramas like Taereung National Village and Beating Heart, showcasing her flair for emotionally resonant storytelling. Her breakthrough came with the hit series Coffee Prince, which cemented her reputation as one of South Korea’s most talented television directors, known for blending warmth, realism, and strong character development.
In 2022, Lee co-wrote and co-directed the television series Summer Strike alongside Hong Moon-pyo. The series stars Kim Seol-hyun and Im Si-wan and is based on the popular webtoon of the same name, written by Joo Young-hyun. Summer Strike tells the story of individuals who choose to step away from the pressures of urban life to find peace and purpose in a quiet seaside village. Produced by GTist, the drama was created as an original project for Genie TV and is available for streaming on both its platform and the OTT media service Seezn.
The series also aired on the South Korean cable channel ENA from November 21 to December 27, 2022, with episodes broadcasting every Monday and Tuesday at 21:20 (KST). Known for its warm, reflective tone and picturesque cinematography, Summer Strike received praise for its introspective narrative and heartfelt performances, further showcasing Lee’s versatile storytelling abilities.
