Balan Aakash (born 30 June 1995), popularly known as KPY Bala or Vettukili Bala, is an Indian actor and comedian best known for his appearances on Star Vijay’s Cooku with Comali. Hailing from Karaikal, Bala moved to Chennai with aspirations of entering the entertainment industry. With support from comedian Amuthavaanan, he began seeking opportunities in television, initially appearing on shows like Adhu Ithu Edhu. In 2017, Bala participated in Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru? Season 6, where he was briefly eliminated but was brought back into the competition thanks to Priyanka Deshpande’s support. His eventual victory in the show marked a turning point in his career.

Following his success in KPY, Bala gained further recognition through his comedic appearances in Super Singer 7, which paved the way for his role as a Comali in the hit show Cooku with Comali. His unique sense of humor and on-screen presence quickly made him a fan favorite. Transitioning to films, Bala made his silver screen debut in Junga (2018), starring Vijay Sethupathi and directed by Gokul. Since then, he has continued to build his career as a comedian and supporting actor in Tamil cinema and television.
