Jung Chae-Yeon (정채연) is a South Korean actress and singer, Her also known as Chaeyeon, She was born on 1st December 1997 in Suncheon, South Korea. Jung Chae-yeon made her acting debut earlier in the 2015 web drama Sweet Temptation, showcasing her potential as both a performer and actress. In Produce 101, Jung impressed viewers with her visuals and talent, eventually finishing in 7th place. This earned her a spot in the temporary project girl group I.O.I under YMC Entertainment and Swing Entertainment. I.O.I officially debuted in May 2016 with their first EP Chrysalis and achieved significant popularity despite their brief existence. The group promoted both as a full unit and in sub-units before officially disbanding in January 2017.

Interestingly, even before her I.O.I debut, Jung re-debuted in September 2015 with the girl group DIA under MBK Entertainment. As DIA’s vocalist, rapper, visual, and face of the group, Jung contributed significantly to their music and image. However, the group’s frequent lineup changes and the formation of sub-units led to inconsistent promotion schedules, limiting their growth in a competitive market. In December 2016, she debuted as part of DIA’s sub-unit BCHCS (later renamed BCHC) with the digital single First Miracle DIAID I.

After years of group activity, DIA departed from PocketDol Studio in late 2022, with members choosing not to renew their contracts. Although the group has not formally disbanded, they are currently on an indefinite hiatus.

Expanding her acting career, Jung Chae-yeon confirmed her role in the 2024 youth drama series Family by Choice on December 13, 2023. With her growing acting portfolio and continued fan interest, she remains a beloved figure in both the K-pop and K-drama scenes.
