Jisoo is a South Korean singer and actress. Her real name is Kim Ji-soo, She was born on 3rd January 1995 in Gunpo, South Korea. In 2011, she joined YG Entertainment (YG엔터테인먼트) as a trainee after successfully passing its competitive auditions. At the time, the company was preparing to debut a 7-member girl group, but following years of rigorous training and internal reshuffling, the final group lineup was trimmed to just four members. Before her official debut, she gained early public attention by appearing in commercials and various music videos. She also made a cameo appearance in the 2015 KBS drama The Producers, offering a glimpse of her potential as an entertainer.
In August 2016, she officially debuted as the lead vocalist and visual of BLACKPINK with the release of their mini album Square One. The group quickly rose to global stardom, and her presence stood out for her elegance, charm, and strong vocal performance.
In March 2023, she launched her solo career with the single album Me, showcasing her individuality and musical style. Later that year, in November, she was honored alongside her BLACKPINK bandmates by King Charles III, receiving the distinction of Honorary Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
In December 2023, YG Entertainment announced that all four members had renewed their contracts exclusively for group promotions. She subsequently founded her own label, Blissoo (블리수), to manage her solo ventures. Expanding her international reach, she signed with Warner Music Group in January 2025 for her individual activities in the United States, signaling a new chapter in her global career.
