Jayant Sinha is an Indian film dialogue writer, director, actor, and screenwriter known for his contributions to both Hindi and Hollywood cinema. His name became well-recognized in the Indian film industry after being referred to Kangana Ranaut by filmmaker Sai Kabir, who directed Tiku Weds Sheru and Revolver Rani. An ardent follower of legendary screenwriting mentors such as Syd Field, Robert McKee, Blake Snyder, Lisa Arnold, and Joseph Campbell, Jayant has honed his craft through years of learning and practical experience.
He made his directorial debut in 2019 with the Hindi feature film MehrYaar, which starred Prashant Narayanan, Thalavasal Vijay, Preeta Mathur, and Atul Mathur, along with a new lead pair. Shot across multiple Indian locations, MehrYaar narrates the bold story of an educated Muslim girl who rebels against wearing a burqa. The film was produced by Cinedreams Productions, with music by M. Satishchandra, cinematography by Mukesh G. and Jemin Jome, choreography by Shri Krish, and VFX/editing by Prabha Amarnath. Jayant’s storytelling focused on socially relevant themes with a gripping narrative style.
Graduating with a degree in film direction from Canterbury University, Jayant Sinha has also been associated with several Hollywood projects, further enriching his filmmaking perspective. Apart from his directorial ventures, he served as an associate writer on Emergency, showcasing his versatility as a storyteller. His body of work reflects a commitment to crafting thought-provoking cinema that bridges the gap between mainstream entertainment and meaningful social discourse.
