Bahuleyan Jeyamohan is a prominent Indian writer and literary critic known for his extensive contributions to Tamil and Malayalam literature. Hailing from Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu, Jeyamohan has carved a distinct space for himself through his philosophical depth, literary richness, and sharp social commentary. His magnum opus, Vishnupuram, is widely regarded as a milestone in Tamil literature—a complex fantasy that weaves Indian mythology with philosophical inquiries. In 2014, he began Venmurasu, an ambitious modern retelling of the Mahabharata, which he completed after several years, creating what is considered the longest novel ever written in any language.

Beyond Vishnupuram and Venmurasu, Jeyamohan’s other celebrated works include Rubber, Kaadu, Pani Manidhan, Eazhaam Ulagam, and Kotravai. His narratives often blend realism with metaphysical themes, reflecting the influence of thinkers like Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi, both of whom shaped his humanitarian worldview. With his deep engagement in Indian culture, spirituality, and classical literature, Jeyamohan consistently challenges readers to confront ethical and existential questions through his layered storytelling.

Born into a Malayali Nair family in the culturally rich Kanyakumari district, Jeyamohan writes primarily in Tamil but is also fluent in Malayalam. His prolific output spans multiple genres and includes nine novels, numerous volumes of short stories, literary criticism, biographies, and philosophical essays. He has also made notable contributions to Indian cinema by writing scripts for critically acclaimed Tamil and Malayalam films. Through his interdisciplinary approach and devotion to literary craft, Jeyamohan continues to be a transformative figure in Indian literature.
