Jahanzeb Qamar is a well-known Pakistani scriptwriter. He was born on 26 July 1976 in Sargodha, Pakistan. Qamar started his career in 2000 after completing his bachelor’s in chemical engineering, as a playwright from PTV Lahore center.
He wrote many memorable plays including, Tapti Chaan for which he earned a PTV Best Independent Playwright Award in 2002, Jahanzeb considered Muneeza Hashmi his mentor and teacher, and Qamar entered the Pakistan TV industry.
His memorable plays are Din Dhallay, Ik Nazar Mere Taraf, Main Hari Piya, Tera Pyar Nahi Bhoole, and Kasa-e-Dil (2020). His long-lasting relation with Pakistan Television Corporation has earned him great fame and a reputed place in the industry.
Jahanzeb Qamar began his career at PTV at Lahore center, where he wrote his first-ever independent play Tapti chan, which won many awards. He then became a lead male writer at PTV.
Currently, he is working on Pakistan’s first-ever children’s drama serial Roshan Rastay on PTV Home. Qamar is currently serving as college principal at Misali Ravian College in Sargodha.
Qamar attended PAF Public School Sargodha and did matriculation with science subjects, later he attended Air Base Inter College and completed his F.Sc. in pre-engineering.
Qamar earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Punjab University in 2000 and during his career he completed his master’s in Urdu literature.
