Tensions between India and Pakistan have once again spilled into the entertainment world. Following the recent Pehelgam attacks, the Indian government has reportedly taken strict measures targeting Pakistani content. From banning drama channels to restricting Instagram accounts of major Pakistani celebrities, the clampdown is being widely criticized for sidelining art and culture amid political tensions.
However, in a surprising twist, an upcoming Indian series titled Gram Chikitsalay has caught the attention of Pakistani netizens—and not for the right reasons. Viewers are pointing out uncanny similarities between Gram Chikitsalay and the popular Pakistani drama Zard Patton Ka Bunn. Many believe the Indian show is a blatant copy of the original Pakistani storyline, with similar rural settings, character dynamics, and even thematic direction.
One social media user commented, “They have banned Pakistani dramas and now they will show their copies to their public.” The accusation has ignited a heated discussion online, with fans calling out the double standards—banning original Pakistani content while allegedly copying it for local adaptations.
This incident has once again raised questions about intellectual property, creative ethics, and the hypocrisy of cultural censorship. While Pakistani dramas continue to win global praise for their storytelling and emotional depth, the idea of them being copied rather than credited adds fuel to an already tense atmosphere.
Whether Gram Chikitsalay is indeed inspired by Zard Patton Ka Bunn remains to be officially addressed, but for now, it seems the audience isn’t buying the “coincidence.”
